Basic Instructions for this Project

Peppermint Pinwheel Motif Pattern:

Materials:

  • Red and white yarn
  • Crochet hook (size depending on yarn weight)

Motif Pattern:

  1. Round 1: With white yarn, magic ring, ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
  2. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in next st, repeat around. Join. (24 dc)
  3. Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next st, switch to red, dc in next st, switch back to white, dc in next st, repeat around. Join.
  4. Rounds 4+: Continue increasing and switching colors in a pinwheel pattern. Adjust stitches and colors to achieve the peppermint swirl effect.

Afghan Assembly:

  • Create multiple motifs and join them together to form the afghan shape seen in the photo.
