Crochet a Pair of Basketweave Fingerless Gloves or Mittens

Here is an idea to start making this year as gifts. These wonderful gloves or mitts have a unique design to crochet plus they can easily be made in your favorite yarn colors. The pattern suggests using wool yarn but any yarn that works well for mittens or gloves will be okay to use.
Generous double-treble post stitches create an airy yet warm woven fabric. Careful seaming along the thumb side connects the cables. Extend the wearing by flipping them inside out for a completely different look.

Choosing a beautiful variegated yarn with a long color repeat adds an interesting twist to this cabled set. Equally as appealing in a solid color, the post-stitch cables make it all pop!
