So, you want to create your own memento that will last the test of time for the summer? Here's how to make a pretty, cool summer scrapbook.
Steps
- Buy a scrapbook. A nice floral one would work, or a blue one with a shell. If you want, you could get a plain scrapbook and glue on little memorabilia on the cover, such as a shell or a ticket.
- Get a digital camera or a cellphone. During your vacation and camp time, take as many photos as you want of local people, new friends, random items, or yourself wearing beach clothing!
- Write a freestyle "summer poem" on the first page, like about the white, puffy clouds, clear blue sky and breezy wind.
- On all of the other pages, write down quotes or draw pictures on them.
- While at your vacation/camp time, find little things on the ground, or buy things that you can glue into your scrapbook, like little pins, keychains, pebbles, etc.
- If at a beach, collect the shells, driftwood, and a LOT of sand. Back at home, preserve the shells by boiling them, then glue them on. Carve out initials and pictures onto the drift wood. Glue on the sand onto the cover of your scrapbook!
Tips
- If you go on vacation (very likely) then bring the scrapbook with you and carry it wherever you go.

- You may find yourself looking through your summer scrapbook over and over again!
